More than 9 million people have been affected by Typhoon Haiyan and thousands more displaced. Survivors are now struggling to find food and water. An international relief effort is underway to help the victims.
Aid workers are struggling to reach some of the worse hit areas due to destroyed communication and infrastructure. Over 10,000 people have been killed after Haiyan made landfall in the Philippines on Friday.
Haiyan was the 20th typhoon to strike the country this season. However the intensity of the storm made it the strongest typhoon/hurricane/cyclone to ever make landfall in recorded history.
The impact in Philippines is catastrophic. Relief effort may be hampered by more rain which is forecast to fall in the country over the next few days.
