Typhoon Haiyan is forecast to make landfall in the Philippines on Friday 8th November. The typhoon is a category 5 and is the strongest storm in the Pacific this season with wind speeds of 278km/h. The country is preparing itself for impact. Residents have been evacuated, schools and offices closed and the military has been put on standby.
