Further tornadoes claim more lives in Central and Southern America

Further tornadoes touched down again in central and southern America including Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee on 29th April 2014 leaving a path of destruction and claiming more lives. 17 people were killed on Monday, bringing the total death toll over the two days to 35.


Tupelo in Mississippi and Louisville were the worse hit on Monday. 9 people died in the town of Louisville when a tornado rated as an EF4 struck the town. 2 people were also killed in Lincoln County.


There have been preliminary reports of over 80 tornadoes; however the number could be lower due to some being reported more than once and this will only be confirmed after assessments are carried out.
