Activity Updates for Pavlof and Shishaldin

PAVLOF VOLCANO (VNUM #312030)
Current Volcano Alert Level: WATCH
Current Aviation Color Code: ORANGE

'Elevated seismic activity at Pavlof continues. Nothing unusual was observed in satellite and webcam views over the past day. A faint thermal signal was detected at the summit in a few cloud free views this morning and this probably reflects still hot, but cooling lava near the vent. Eruptive activity may not be occurring at present, or is happening at a very low level. Pauses in vigorous eruptive activity of days to weeks are common during eruptive episodes of Pavlof Volcano. A return to more robust eruptive activity remains possible and could occur with little or no warning'.

SHISHALDIN VOLCANO (VNUM #311360)
Current Volcano Alert Level: WATCH
Current Aviation Color Code: ORANGE

'Seismic activity has increased over the past 24 hours and remains elevated. No ash plumes have been detected and satellite images show strongly elevated surface temperatures near the volcano's summit. Partly clear web camera images this morning show nothing unusual'.
